KREGERFEST - APRIL 6-7, 2018
Celebrate Dr. Bernard E. Kreger
On His Retirement From The Harvard Glee Club
Dr. Bernard E. Kreger’s association with the Harvard Glee Club began in 1955 when he joined the then-Harvard Freshman Glee Club as an accompanist, and he has been actively involved with the Glee Club in various capacities in the 60-plus years since. With the exception of several years in the 1960s taken for medical training and military service, he sang and played piano in the group continuously until May 2017. In addition to being a performer, he served as the Glee Club’s Graduate Manager and then Alumni Secretary for several decades. He has also been a key member of the Board of Directors of the Harvard Glee Club Foundation, the organization of alumni of the Harvard Glee Club, for almost fifty years, having served as Secretary and been the organizer for a multitude of alumni events, foremost among them several alumni chorus collaborations with the “Old Boys” of the Kyoto University Glee Club, both in Japan and domestically.
On April 6-7, 2018, past and present members of the Harvard Glee Club, together with other alumni, friends, and family, will gather in Cambridge to honor the peerless musical career of this beloved member of the Harvard Choral community on the occasion of the first anniversary of his retirement from the Harvard Glee Club.
